Please contact reception to make an appointment. Ante natal appointments are with a midwife and are held in both Newport and Tayport, contraceptive services, child health surveillance services, minor surgery services, monitoring of cholesterol, well person checks, travel immunisation, asthma, diabetes, cervical smears, phlebotomy, dietician, chiropody and smoking cessation are also provided in the surgery. The Practice is supported by a team of practice nurses, district nurses and health visitors.

Appointments are bookable as required and in advance.  Available for blood tests only

CHILD IMMUNISATION CLINIC

ANTE NATAL CLINICS

Are held on a Thursday with a midwife at our Newport site. Patients are seen at intervals during their pregnancy.  

PODIATRY

We are fortunate to be able to provide a podiatry service from our Newport practice.  This service is run by NHS Fife and they are responsible for issuing appointments and determining who meets the criteria to be seen by this service.

TRAVEL VACCINATIONS

As of the 1st of April 2022 there will be a change to the way Travel Vaccinations will be given.

Practices will no-longer be providing this service.

If you are going abroad and you require travel vaccinations you will need to access the Fit For Travel (FFT) website - https://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/home

You can now book the vaccinations you need at the dedicated travel clinics held at participating community pharmacies across Fife. 

Local pharmacies participating are Leuchars Pharmacy and Lloyds Pharmacy St. Andrews.

CERVICAL SMEAR TEST

What is a cervical smear test?
This is a screening test which checks to see if the cells that make up the surface of the neck of the womb (cervix) are normal. It aims to identify any abnormalities, which can be simply and effectively treated.

Who needs cervical smear tests?
All women between 20 - 60 years of age who are sexually active need regular cervical smears. In Scotland women are routinely invited to attend every 3 years.

In the UK the cervical smear test saves over 1000 lives each year and prevent 8 out of 10 cerivcal cancers developing.

SMOKING CESSATION

Do you really want to stop smoking? If so please contact the practice for further information on how to access the smoking cessation clinic.

If you do not smoke you will live longer and you will be fitter and healthier. If you are planning a family you will improve your fertility and your chances of a healthy baby. You will also have a lot more money to spend or save. Stopping smoking may be one of the hardest things you have ever tried to do.

There are various options available to you

• You can have patches, nicotine chewing gum or nicotine lozenges on prescription please speak to a doctor about this.

• Ladies wishing to stop can be referred to the Buddy Project this will provide you with independent support from a buddy. Please contact the practice and we will be pleased to refer you.

• There are smoking cessation clinics available to help you

The following services are out-with those supplied by the NHS. A charge may be made. Reports will take up to 10 days to be completed. Payment should be made at the time of service or collection. Our secretarial team will advise you in advance of costs

* Excessive requests for copies of records apply to all solicitor and insurance firms who requests copies of records pre-dating any accident / incident being investigated.  Patients will be charged this fee should they request duplicate copies of their records upon receipt of one copy.  Patients may request copies of records held from any date after their original copies were provided and incur no charge for the first copy produced.
