When you attend for a test of any kind you'll be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Please bear this in mind and call the surgery after 3pm once sufficient time has elapsed.
Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results, so it's your responsibility to check them and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor.
We have a strict confidentiality policy and we give priority to protecting your personal medical information.
This means that we can only give out test results to the person to which they relate. This can change if the person has given us previously given us written permission to share that information with a member of their family, next of kin or carer.
We would also consider sharing the information if their carers and the GP consider that the individual does do not have the capacity to understand them - this might be for people with dementia or learning disabilities, the very elderly or children.
