Nurse Practitioners

Mrs Julie Rowland (f)

ANP Julie Rowland is the Practice Advanced Nurse Practitioner. She joined our Team in November 2014 and works over both sites on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Fridays and every other Saturday at the Tyldesley surgery.

Julie has worked in NHS for 35 yrs, She initially Joined primary care as a practice nurse, then continued her studies to progress to an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP). She has a special interest in cardiology, respiratory disease, diabetes and palliative care.  She has a certificate in education/teaching and assessing. Dip diabetes, asthma, cardiac care, care of the dying.

Degree modules in COPD, specialist examination skills, cardiac rehab, heart failure .advanced communication. She has a Masters in context of advanced practice and diagnostic & examination skills.


Julie is also so trained as a clinical supervisor.


Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.
Ms Mandy McCabe (f)

Nurse Mandy Mccabe Nurse Mandy McCabe joined the Practice in 2006 and manages all our Long Term Conditions across both surgeries. Mandy specialises in diabetic care.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
Mrs Anne-Marie Shaw (f)

 HCA Anne-Marie joined the Practice in Oct 2015, Anne-Marie is the Practice Health Care Assistant and Phlebotomist.
