Dr Johns carries out full GP duties and has a special interest in Dermatology. She can carry out minor operations and joint injections at the surgery as well as assessing dermatological problems.

We welcomed Dr Addis to The Oaks in July 2019. He has a specialist interest and training in Diabetes and also does joint injections for patients in his clinics.

Dr Jaspal Taggar

Dr Taggar was initially employed as a long term locum and became a Salaried GP in April 2020. He works with us on Fridays. He is an experienced GP, a Clinical Associate Professor and head of the undergraduate teaching at the University of Nottingham and has a special interest in cardiology.

Dr Browne joined our team in September 2020 as a Salaried GP. He is also passionate about teaching medical students!  

Dr Benjamin Bradley

Dr Bradley started at the surgery in 2021 as a maternity locum and joined the team permanently as a Salaried GP in April 2022 as he was so popular with our patients. Dr Bradley enjoys teaching our medical students and performing joint injections! 

Dinah Noble 

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Dinah has previously worked in the community and joined our team in July 2018 as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. She works alongside our Doctors to help triage and treat patients, she can assess and prescribe for a wide range of illnesses as well as performing nursing duties.  

Jen Farbrother 

Paramedic

Jen is employed by the PCN (Primary Care Network) and attached to our practice. She is a fully qualified and experienced paramedic who has previously worked with EMAS. She works alongside our GPs and Dinah to assess and treat patients, she also performs home visits to patients who are housebound and unwell.  

Claire Woodhouse

Claire joined us in April 2016 from NUH where she worked on an orthopaedic ward. She is able to perform a wide range of nursing duties including immunisations, cervical smears and long term condition reviews. 

Charlotte Hall

Charlotte joined us in March 2021. She has worked in both community and General Practice Nursing and is working to upskill on her practice nursing duties. 

Jessica Ratcliffe

Jess joined us in August 2022 from NUH where she worked within the research and innovation team, before this she worked as a GP practice nurse so she has a full range of nursing skills. She a has special interest in COPD and research. 

Julie Hubbard

Health Care Assistant

Julie is our longest serving member of staff. She is able to deal with a wide range of queries and issues and handles all complaints. In her capacity as a HCA she is able to provide services including dressings, healthchecks, stitch and staple removal and BP checks. Julie also assists the Doctors in minor operations and coil clinics. 

Chloe

Healthcare Assistant 

Chloe joined us in November 2021 from the A&E department at QMC where she was an experienced Clinical Support Worker. She is enjoying developing her skills as a HCA and incorporating her expertise in emergency care within the surgery.

Michelle handles GP admin including dealing with incoming letters and test results as well as passing on messages from the GPs.

Sue joined the team as a part time receptionist in November 2020. She is always happy to help! 

Chloe

Chloe splits her time between reception and HCA so will be familiar face to many of our patients. She has a wide range of knowledge to be able to help patients. 

Darcey

Darcey joined us in 2022 and is currently working and studying to complete her apprenticeship. She works on reception and is always happy to help deal with any queries. 

Jodie 

Jodie joined the team in 2023 and works in reception part time helping patients with their queries and making sure everyone is booked in appropriately. She has previously worked in schools!

Jan joined our reception team in 2023 with Olivia. She really enjoys being on reception helping patients and greets everyone with a smile! 

Olivia

Olivia joined our reception team in 2023 with Jan. She is getting to grips with all the different questions and is always willing to help.  

Leah 

Reception Manager
Leah joined the team in September 2016 as a receptionist and secretary. She works in the secretarial role part of the week and is able to assist with any queries around referrals or appointments as well as carrying out a full range of reception duties and admin duties. She also leads our PPG and works alongside the Practice Manager to help support reception and the wider team.  

Paige

Reception Manager
Paige joined the team in December 2020. Paige is trained in reception, secretary and GP admin and always likes to learn new things to be able to help as many people as possible. Paige is also our Carers Champion and works alongside the Practice Manager to support reception and the wider team.  

Molly

Molly joined the team full time in October 2021 having previously worked within care environments. She is always happy to help with any reception queries and is currently training within the Secretary role.  

David Sharpe

Clinical Pharmacist

David is our Clinical Pharmacist, he consults with and treats patients directly. He undertakes medication reviews and provides advice and support to patients who are taking multiple medicines (polypharmacy) and are managing long-term conditions. David also supports the rest of the clinical and the admin team with resolving day-to-day medicine issues and providing clinical advice about medications and treatments. 

Emily Parker

Pharmacy Technician 

Emily is a Pharmacy Technician who is employed by the local Primary Care Network and is attached to our practice. She has lots of experience dealing with medication queries and provides advice and support to patients with their medication. Emily works closely with David and the rest of our clinical team to provide excellent care for our patients.  

PCN (Primary Care Network) Staff

Diabetes Specialist Nurses Pat and Karen run joint clinics at the surgery each month with our nurses to see patients who need additional support with their Diabetes management and work alongside our staff to mentor and train them. 

Muhammad is a First Contact Physiotherapist who works at the surgery on Monday mornings and all day Tuesday. He is able to see patients with musculoskeletal concerns for an initial consultation. He can then give advice and exercises, refer onwards to secondary care specialists, or organise other interventions.

Margaret is a Trainee Nursing Associate who works at the surgery whilst completing her training course. She works alongside our nursing team when she is not out on placements. 

We have access to a specialist team of Social Prescribers. One of these, Hayley, sees patients at the surgery on Tuesday afternoons. Social prescribers are able to offer help and support around mental health and wellbeing, social isolation, employment and training, benefits and housing advice and much more. Helen and Milly are employed by the PCN to provide specialist mental health support to our patients. Helen works at the surgery on Wednesdays and Milly is here on Monday and Friday afternoons. Our GPs will refer you directly to them if they think you will benefit from their expert help. 

Health and Well-being Coach

The following staff work with us but are employed by the local Primary Care Trust. 

Healthy Family Team - They can be reached at 0300 123 3387 (option 4) 
The healthy family team replace school nurses and health visitors. They are trained to advise on health care for Mums, children and families. 

Midwives - They can be reached at Dovecote House on 0115 952 2412.
Ante-natal clinics for pregnant women are occasionally held at the surgery, usually by Midwife Julie Tarbitt. Please ask the Receptionist for further information. Please be aware we do not book or hold a list of midwife appointments, all appointments are booked via the midwives. 

District Nurses - They can be contacted via the local hub on 0300 083 0100
They are available for a range of home nursing tasks if you are unable to travel to our surgery premises.

We also have a phlebotomy service which is provided by Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust. Our regular phlebotomists are Michelle, Steph and Julie.
