Our practice nurses are available at the surgery during the following times by appointment only:

Tuesday  4:00pm to 6:00pm

Wednesday 9:00am to 12:30pm

Thursday 8:30am to 12:30pm

Friday 9:00am to 12:30pm

The practice nurses are available for:

  • Advice
  • Diabetic checks
  • Asthma checks
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Travel vaccinations
  • Health checks for new patients
  • Smoking cessation
  • Change of dressings and removal of stitches
  • Baby immunisations
  • Chlamydia tests
  • Blood test and anticoagulation clinics
  • If you are between aged 16-74 and have not been seen at the practice for the last 3 years or are aged 75 and over and have not been seen in the last 12 months a check-up with the health care assistance can be arranged.
  • Please note that cervical smears are now done by the doctor.

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
