Covid 19 Vaccinations

We are currently sending out text messages inviting people to book an appointment for a Covid 19 vaccination at Sharley Park Leisure Centre. If you receive a text message, please follow the link to book your appointment. If you already have an appointment or have had your vaccine please ignore the message. If you have not yet received an invitation please wait until you are called as there are a limited amount of vaccinations each week and we may not have reached your age range. Please DO NOT TELEPHONE THE SURGERY as we are extremely busy and will advise you as above.

Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

All consultations are via appointment.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Practice Management

The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Care of ante-natal and post-natal patients at home, at the surgery and at the local Sure Start Centre. To contact the Midwife telephone Sure Start 01246 852228.

Community Nurses

District nurses who care for either long-term chronically sick home bound patients or for patients after discharge from hospital.

Health Visitors

Access to the health visitor is available through the Surgery or Coney Green, Clay Cross. They give advice on a complete range of health issues. They work very closely with all health professionals in the surgery and the community so if you have any queries or would like some advice, please telephone, 01246 252933 - Coney Green, Clay Cross.
