Noticeboard

We currently have 2 partners off work long term and there is a lack of available locum doctors. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused, we are all working extremely hard and are hoping things will soon improve.

No routine appointments will be available and GPs and nurses will only see patients with an urgent problem.

SPIRE

NHSScotland is improving the way it uses information from GP patient records. SPIRE is a service that will allow small amounts of information from GP practice records to be used to help doctors' surgeries, NHSScotland and the Scottish Government to improve care and plan services, and to help researchers to learn more from patient information held at GP practices.

A new campaign is underway to inform patients across Scotland of the benefits of the service, and the confidential and secure way in which GP patient records will be used to help plan and improve health care services.

You have a choice about your patient record being used in this way. To find out more go to spire.scot or call NHS Inform on 0800 22 44 88.

For technical reasons we have had to make some changes to our website so the first time you request repeat prescriptions unfortunately you will have to re-type in all your medication.

Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions for medicines may be supplied if your doctor agrees. You should allow 2 working days for these to be processed.

  • You may request them by using the computer slip or by written request via the box in reception.

  • You can order your repeat prescription online using our secure form via the link at the top of this page

  • Primarily for the Housebound & Elderly a "Repeat Prescription Phone line" is open daily between 11.00am to 12.00pm midday and 4.30pm to 5.30pm. The number 0131 440 7802 is for this purpose only.

  • Repeats can be requested by post and fax (0131 440 7825)

All GP practices prefer written requests because they are safer.

If you wish us to send your prescription to you, please let us have a stamped addressed envelope.

Most of the local chemists arrange to collect prescriptions so that you can collect your medication directly from them. Please ask reception and your chemist about this and remember it will take at least 2 working days.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
