How do I request my prescription?

We do not accept prescription requests over the phone or by email.

You can order your prescription through the following methods;

NHS App - This is the easiest way to order your prescriptions and can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play follow this link for more information: NHS APP

  • Dropping off a request – There is a prescription request box located outside the surgery just to the right of the main entrance, a request can be place in there at any time. Your prescription request must have your name, address, date of birth and the names of the medications you require.

Ordering online - Log in to Patient Access or Log in - NHS App Online (service.nhs.uk) If you do not currently have an online account, please contact the reception team who would be happy to help you set this up.

Please allow at least 48 hours for your prescription request to be processed

Prescriptions for the Contraceptive Pill

The combined contraceptive pill can only be issued by Pavilion Surgery via a consultation with one of our nursing team. This is because the pill is not suitable for all women and we need to ascertain every 6 months that it is still the safest and most appropriate form of contraception for you and to allow us to monitor your blood pressure as occasionally this rises whilst taking the pill.

Electronic Prescribing

Electronic prescriptions help save the NHS money.

You will receive your prescriptions in the same way as you do now.

Read more about EPS on the NHS website. or Download the EPS leaflet here

A new way to get your Prescriptions (Repeat Dispensing)

The Electronic Repeat Dispensing service is a convenient way to collect prescriptions.

You won't have to re-order or collect your repeat prescriptions from the surgery every time you need more medicine.

You can simply collect your medicines at regular intervals for up to 12 months from your chosen chemist.

More information can be seen in the downloadable document below.

What is Repeat Dispensing and how does it work?

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
