Home visits

Please only request home visits for medical reasons, i.e. the patient is terminally ill, bed bound or would come to serious harm if moved. The surgery is fully equipped, whereas home visits do not have the same access to medical equipment. Home visits also reduce the overall clinical capacity as it takes a clinician around an hour to complete ONE home visit, the same time as it would take to see up to SIX patients in surgery.

Routine weekend appointments now available

The CHoC South Weekend Pre-Bookable Appointment Service is a pilot scheme offering patients weekend appointments. Your GP Practice can book you in for a weekend appointment to be seen by a CHoC doctor at either the Westmorland General Hospital or the Furness General Hospital. Please ask your receptionist / GP for details of how to book a Saturday morning appointment.
