When We Are Closed

Between 18.00 and 08.00 every weekday, the Practice is covered by an "Out of Hours" service provider called The West Yorkshire Urgent Care Service organised by NHS Leeds. A recorded message is on the surgery answer phone giving you the "Out of Hours" telephone number 0345 605 9999 to call should any situations arise overnight or at weekends when you may have the need to speak to a doctor

When our York Road Surgery is closed every Wednesday from 12.00 noon, the surgery switchboard will be diverted to our Rookwood Surgery and when York Road Surgery is closed every Thursday from 12.00 noon, the surgery switchboard will be diverted to our York Road Surgery so that patients can always be in contact with us.

NHS 111 Service

If you need medical help fast, but it’s not a 999 emergency then you should call the NHS 111 service. You will be assessed, given advice and directed straightaway to the local service that can help you best. Calls to NHS 111 are free from landlines and mobile phones.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
