Long-term Locum General Practitioner Required - Pulteney Street Surgery

Accountable to: Partners
Sessions: Mondays (whole day)
Job Purpose:Provide medical services to a variety of patients in accordance with the practice
Personal Medical Services (PMS) contract

The practice is well placed in central Bath working from a Grade 1 listed Georgian town house with a large additional branch site in Bathampton. We are looking for a locum to join a thriving and happy practice of over 11,000 patients with 6 General Practitioners, a Nurse Practitioner and a full NHS complimentary team. There are 2 in-house pharmacies and a full NHS dental practice on site.

We are interested in hearing from those who are able to commit to Mondays, ideally from January, to May and possibly beyond. We operate a successful GP Access telephone triage system at the practice using TPP SystmOne. Alternatively, we would be open to discuss appointment based clinics of 15 x 10 minute appointments per session with up to 2 visits per day.

Bath and North East Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group are looking to recruit a Macmillan GP Lead for 2 sessions per week who is passionate about improving cancer care.


We are working in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to provide primary care leadership that will inform and influence the delivery of care, to bring about a sustainable improvement in cancer services.
You will have the opportunity to develop skills in service development, quality improvement and clinical leadership at the forefront of cancer service redesign supporting National and Macmillan Cancer and End of Life Strategies. Working alongside the Regional Cancer Alliance you will implement solutions reflecting the needs of the local population and promote best practice throughout a variety of projects, for example, early diagnosis, 62 day performance and the Living with and Beyond Cancer Recovery Package.
