Booking an Appointment

Routine Appointments

Appointments may be made online, by telephoning the surgery or by calling into the surgery. Routine appointments may be made well in advance.

You may also make an appointment up to 2 weeks in advance online. You will need to register in order to use this service, but we are finding that this is becoming an increasingly popular method of making appointments.

If you have a genuinely urgent medical problem that you feel needs attention on the same day, explain this to the receptionist and you will be seen that same day. Please do not abuse the urgent appointment system with non-urgent problems, as these are best managed during normal surgeries, when we can give you more time.

Urgent Appointments

Available for medical problems that need to be assessed on the day. Please be aware that when calling to request an urgent appointment you may need to give our call handlers a brief description of the problem so that it can be recorded on a triage list, you will then be contacted by a Duty Doctor or Nurse Practitioner. Do not request an urgent appointment for an on-going medical condition, repeat medication or to request a sick note.

Nurse Appointments

Be seen quickly for minor ailments, injuries, dressings, removal of stitches, health care management & family planning. Our specialist nurses run clinics for asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart disease and hypertension with most of them being fully qualified to issue prescriptions.

Healthcare Assistant Appointments

Our HCA's run a variety of clinics including taking blood samples, blood pressure monitoring, electrocardiogram tests (ECG), hearing tests et cetera.

Recording Telephone Calls

Patients should note that, for their protection and better care and for the protection of staff, telephone calls may be recorded. These recordings will be treated confidentially.

Text Message Reminders 

You can now register to receive information by text message on your phone regarding appointments and health care. 

If you wish to register for this messaging service please fill out the consent form.


If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. To do this, you may phone 02392 009191, select option 3 for general inquiries, then select option 1 for cancellations before leaving your name and the time of the appointment. Alternatively you may use our online service SystmOnline.

Non Attendance

The practice clinicians have a large amount of wasted time due to patients not cancelling their booked appointments. To reduce this, please work with us and notify us if you are unable to attend a previously booked appointment.

Non Attendance in the month of January 2017 equated to 250 hours of lost appointment time, or approximately 1500 10 minute appointments which could have been used for other patients, thus reducing waiting time.
