Routine appointments for GPs and nurses can be requested by telephone, in person at the surgery or using the online service. Routine appointments are available Monday to Friday mornings and afternoons and it is possible to book these appointments 1 week in advance. Routine appointments are released at 8.00am on a Monday for that coming week. Evening appointments are bookable 6 weeks ahead. If you have more than one problem you would like to discuss with the GP or Nurse you can request an extended time (double) appointment. We also offer both normal and extended time every Tuesday evening between 6:30 PM and 8 PM.
We have appointments every morning and afternoon that are bookable on the day for patients who feel they have a problem that can not wait until the next available bookable appointment. Please let the reception staff know if you feel you need to be seen on the day and we will endeavour to give you one of hour same day urgent appointments. If there are no same day urgent appointments available on the day you will receive a telephone call from the GP on call who will discuss your problem and if neccessary arrange for you to be seen as an "extra" patient at the end of surgery that day.
Please do not be offended if the reception team ask the nature of your concern, this is to ensure you are seen by the appropriate clinican.
We have a number of telephone consultations on the afternoon clinics for those patients wanting to speak to a GP.
Please inform the surgery if you cannot attend your appointment.
In common with most GP surgeries and Hospital Outpatient Departments we do experience patients not turning up for their appointments - you may be familiar with term used to describe this - "DNA" standing for Did Not Attend. we realise that in a lot of cases this is due to unavoidable circumstances or simple forgetfulness. Please don't be a "DNA" as we are experiencing considerable demand for appointments and we would like to make best use of our time to see our patients. If you repeatedly miss appointments you may receive a letter from our practice manager asking you to explain why this is happening, repeated DNA's could result in being removed from the practice list.
We now offer SMS text reminders for your upcoming appointments, if you wish to not receive SMS reminders please inform our reception team. Your details will not be passed on to any other parties.
