Regional Teaching Group Rules

Our trainee year-groups are cohesive and supportive units. At your induction course you will have a chance to consider and contribute to rules which are agreed by your year group and which inform the way in which you interact, both with one another and as a representative of the Training Programme. Getting the most out of your training opportunity relies on everyone being supportive, responsible and sensitive to the needs of others, including outside speakers. Some of the rules for regional teaching which have been helpful are outlined below.

  • Preparation for session by teacher and learners
  • Acceptance of occasional interruptions due to clinical work
  • Mutual respect
  • Confidentiality
  • Respect timing and arrive promptly
  • Listen to speaker (rather than talking)
  • Bleep free (hand in to office)
  • Respect other opinions
  • One person speaks at a time
  • Mobile phones on silent
  • Feedback forms - confidential
