Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions can be ordered online. You can also attend the surgery to fill in a request slip.

If you require a repeat prescription please allow 48 hours’ notice. The reason for this is due to the large number of requests we get. The doctors have to ensure they are prescribing safely and may need to check your notes before signing.

If you are on regular medication, you will have a 'print-out' attached to the right hand side of your prescription. Each item will have an indication of how many times the GP has 'authorised' the medication to be issued. Once these have all been issued, a further number of issues will need to be re-authorised by the GP. You may be asked to see the GP before more medication is prescribed and are advised to order 2/3 weeks ahead, to prevent running out.

To re-order, see www.solentgp.nhs.uk  or hand to reception or post to us, indicating the items you require. Prescription requests cannot be accepted by telephone. Please allow at least two complete working days before collection - more if possible, particularly if you know items have 'expired' and may need to be re-authorised.

Electronic Prescribing

If you use a regular pharmacist, you can sign up to electronic prescribing. This means when your prescription is ready, we can electronically send your prescription to your nominated pharmacy. This means you will not have to collect it from us first. (Please be aware that the 48hr rule still applies).
