Test Results

Patients who have access to their medical record online can see the results on their medical record without having to ring the surgery.  To get access to this service you need to complete the application form for Online Services and show valid ID to reception staff who will pass your application to the GP for approval.  Having seen the results you may then want to speak to the GP/nurse to agree any further action or you may just be happy to see the results.  If you do not have online access and want to enquire regarding results of tests you have had via the surgery you can ring to check if the results have been received. The receptionist will take details and will put you down for a telephone consultation with the GP who requested the tests you had. If that GP is not in on the day you ring you will be put on their telephone call list for the next time the GP is available and not "on-call". Please be assured that if your test results were abnormal, the GP would ring you anyway. It is therefore vital that we have your correct contact details, please do not be offended if staff ask you to confirm your contact details. In general it is best to wait a week after your test before ringing the surgery. :

For X-Rays and Ultra Sound Scans

ring 10 days after the X-ray/scan

For Blood tests

ring 1 week after the blood was taken

For Urine/Stool

ring 1 week after the sample was given
