Clinics & Services

pregnantAntenatal Clinic - Care is shared between the doctor and the midwife on a Tuesday, 14:00 – 16:00 to make sure your pregnancy is progressing normally and to discuss any problems.  The midwife will continue care at your home after the birth.  Hospital clinics are available at short notice should the need arise in antenatal and postnatal care.

Well Baby Clinic - The health visitor is available for advice for the 0-5 year olds on a Wednesday, 14:00 – 16:00.

Family Planning and Well Woman - a choice of seeing the doctor or nurse is available for advice in family planning; and consultations with the nurse for cervical smear checks.

Coughs and Colds – Appointments with the nurse are available to discuss respiratory symptoms that need assessment.  She can prescribe antibiotics if needed.

Care of Long Term Conditions

Please make appointments to see the practice nurse to check conditions such as

  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • Asthma and COPD
  • Epilepsy

Our practice nurse also offers

  • Travel advice and vaccination
  • Cervical cytology screening to prevent cervical cancer
  • Contraception advice, assessment and follow up
  • Free testing for sexual transmitted diseases, cholesterol and blood pressure
