Expediting (chasing) of referrals 13.03.24
Going forward we will not be chasing any secondary care referrals on behalf of patients, unless their is a significant deterioration in the patients medical condition, if this is the case please ask for a GP appointment as it may be that a different referral is now required.
This creates extra work for our secretarial team, which could be better spent sending new and/or urgent referrals, therefore we hope you can understand our reasoning behind this.
if you would like to chase referrals or know waiting times yourself then please feel free to do so using this information: North West – My Planned Care NHS
Book an appointment using the NHS e-Referral Service - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
we would ask that you no longer call to speak to reception or our referrals line to chase these as they will not be actioned.
Request for appointments via the phone
We would like to advise all our patients, that there is no need to be stuck in a phone queue first thing in the morning when you are requesting a same day appointment, many times we have appointments still available later in the day, so please try and call later where possible - Thank you.
Do you want a friend or family member to be able to liaise with us regarding your health matters?
If so, you will need to complete and return one of our forms, Permission to Share Please note this is different to Proxy Access, which is online. if you have any queries please ask reception for more details.
