Following feedback from patients we are in the process of updating the practice telephone system, to allow for improved telephone access to the practice for patients. There may be some minor disruption to telephone access to the practice on the 22nd and 23rd May while the switch over takes place. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Records are shared across the practices with adherence to strict IT Governance and Confidentiality rules and a signed Information Sharing Agreement has been signed and approved by each practice Named Improved Access Lead and approved by each practice Caldicott Guardian.

The Cheltenham Peripheral Cluster consists of 5 GP practices:

Care Navigation training for our reception team

In order to help with the enormous demand on our doctors, we are changing the way we work at Sixways Clinic.

We now employ a number of other highly qualified and experienced clinical staff, including Advanced Nurse Practioners,  Specialist Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants therefore you don’t always need to see a doctor. We also have access to additional doctors’ appointments locally, via Choice Plus as well as support from our areas such as pharmacies and physiotherapists, to name a few.

Our reception staff have recently received care navigation training. To enable the reception staff to direct you to the right clinician, and help us assess the urgency of your request, they have been instructed to ask the reason for your appointment. Don’t worry, they are all bound by the NHS rules of confidentiality.

If you are not comfortable with this then please let the receptionist know, however this may mean that we are not able to offer you the most appropriate appointment at the earliest opportunity.

New Advanced Nurse Practitioner joining the Sixways team

We are please to welcome our new Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Lydia Pasqualin, to the Sixways team. Lydia will be running clinics on a Monday and Thursday and can see patients for a number of acute conditions including coughs, sore throats, UTI's, constipation etc.
