IMPORTANT: We need your Explicit Consent for SMS text messaging

We currently use the text messaging service to send you reminders for health promotions, appointment reminders and, in some cases, to let you know about test results. We might also occasionally send information about special clinics we are running that you might be interested in.

With effect from 25th May 2018, changes to the data protection legislation will change the way we obtain consent for sending you text messages.  Currently, unless you explicitly expressed your preference to opt-out of the text messaging service you will have been opted-in by default if you provided us with a mobile number (implied consent). From 25th May 2018, if you have not explicitly expressed your consent to opt-in then you will be opted-out of our text messaging service.

From 13th April 2018 we will be sending a Consent Request text message to all patients for whom we have a mobile number recorded asking you to confirm whether you wish to opt-in to our text messaging service. Please respond to this message as soon as you can, particularly if you do wish to continue to receive text reminders from us.

New text messaging service - April 2018

We are currently trialling a new 2-way SMS (text) messaging service called MJog Messenger. With MJog you will, for example, be able to reply to appointment reminders if you can no longer attend -  texting CANCEL will automatically free up your appointment for someone else.

For those of you with smart phones, downloading the MJog app from your App Store will make responding to our messages even easier as you just have to click on the reply you wish to send, for example, click the CANCEL button if you can no longer attend your appointment.

Flu Vaccines

FLU VACCINES for the over 65's and those in risk groups will be available from the surgery again towards the end of September 2018. Appointments will become available to book online for the adult flu vaccines nearer the time and up until the end of November 2018. Please try and book early once slots become available.
