Dr Shah will retire in September.
Dr Ho will continue to work at Roman Way Medical Centre. Dr Hai and Dr Rodrigues will join the surgery.
All our receptionists will remain with the surgery.
We look forward to continue our GP service at the new location.
From 1 September 2018 Roman Way Medical Centre will be operating from 28 Laycock Street N1 1SW.
The last day that Roman Way Medical Centre will open from 58 Roman Way will be 31 August 2018.
After this date the practice will continue to be called Roman Way Medical Centre but will operate from the new premises in Laycock Street. The practice will be based in the same building as Islington Central Medical Centre.
Why is this happening?
After 28 years of serving the local community, one of the GP Partners at Roman Way Medical Centre, Dr Bina Shah, will retire this August 2018. With Dr Shah’s retirement, on 31 August, the Roman Way Medical Centre premises will no longer be available.
The practice will be based in the same building as Islington Central Medical Centre.
The practice will still be called Roman Way Medical Centre and patients will still be able to see a GP and receive the advice and treatment they need.
Dr Stanley Ho, GP Partner at Roman Way Medical Centre, will continue providing care to patients of Roman Way Medical Centre after 31 August from the new premises, alongside Dr Adel Hai and Dr Mervyn Rodrigues.
As of 1 September 2018, Roman Way Medical Centre will operate from 28 Laycock Street, N1 1SW. Although this is a relatively short distance from Roman Way Medical Centre’s original premises, we do understand that the journey may be more challenging for some patients.
Patients registered at Roman Way Medical Centre can continue to be seen by Dr Stanley Ho, with care also being provided by Dr Adel Hai and Dr Mervyn Rodrigues.
Roman Way Medical Centre will be located in the same building as Islington Central Medical Centre. You will still be able to see a GP and receive advice or treatment when needed.
You will remain registered at Roman Way Medical Centre but have the choice of registering with another practice if you prefer. You can visit the NHS Choices website or call 0300 311 22 33 to find other GP practices near you.
NHS England, together with NHS Islington Clinical Commissioning Group, have written to all patients explaining the changes and the options available to ensure you continue to receive safe, high quality healthcare when needed.
What do I need to do?
You do not need to do anything. You will remain registered at Roman Way Medical Centre and your medical records will be transferred safely to the new premises. You will be able to see a GP as before and telephone numbers will not change.
If you have any concerns about these changes or require further information please speak to a member of staff.
