Routine doctor’s appointments

Appointments with the doctor are 10 minutes long and can usually be booked up to 4 weeks in advance. Most routine surgeries run between 8.30-11 am and 4-6 pm, however there are some early afternoon surgeries between 2 – 4 pm. We also provide extended hours appointments – see below.

The receptionist will be able to advise you of available times.

The doctors' timetable can be seen here

Extended hours

We offer extended hours appointments for patients who find it difficult to attend during normal working hours. We offer some early mornings, evenings and some Saturday mornings.

Urgent medical problems when the surgery is open

If you, or a member of your family are in need of urgent medical advice or treatment (but it is not an emergency) please telephone the surgery (0117 962 4692). Depending on the situation you may be offered a same day appointment (with a doctor or a nurse) or telephone advice. The genuinely housebound may require a visit, usually from one of the GPs at the end of morning surgery. It is usually not possible to request a specific doctor.

Routine nurses' appointments

Appointments with the nurses are booked according to reason, as many procedures take longer than the usual 10 minute time slot. Please help reception by specifying the reason for your visit so that the correct amount of time can be allotted.

Healthcare Assistants' appointments

The HCAs take all the blood samples in the practice and are available each day of the week. They also deal with some health checks and certain other procedures. Please ask our receptionists who will be able to advise which member of staff is the most suitable to book.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
