We are changing over to a new telephone system, please see the link below for further details.
Following feedback from patient's, staff and doctors, the partners have become aware that there are a number of problems, with the current system so we will be trialing a new way to book appointments. These problems include:
- Not seeing the same doctor
- Wasted appointments
- Doctors running very long surgeries
What changes have we made?
For patient's requesting a same day appointment, the doctor will speak to them in the first instance in a telephone consultation.
Pre-bookable appointments will be be available.
A couple of the benefits from this change:
- We hope to make it easier for patient's to see the doctor of their choice
- To see patient's quickly and with less inconvenience
Both patients and doctors like to keep continuity of care, especially for on-going or complex problems. If you cannot book an appointment with your chosen doctor on the day, please note that you can book an appointment up to four or five weeks ahead; these pre-bookable appointments are usually at the start of morning surgeries or at the end of evening surgeries.
We allocate 10 minutes for an appointment slot with a doctors so as to maximise the number of appointments we offer each surgery. If the doctor is unable to cover all aspects of your consultation within 10 minutes you will be asked to book a further appointment.
1 or 2 Doctors run late evening surgeries on a Monday from 18:30 (excluding Bank Holidays/dependent on doctor availability) and 3 to 4 early morning surgeries per week from 07:00 running from Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays).
These appointments will be booked in advance.
We also offer some nursing appointments during extended hours.
During these extended surgery hours the surgery will be closed, and therefore only accessible to those with pre-booked appointments.
Please ask at reception for further information or to book an appointment.
Practice Nurse Appointments
These are 10 or 20 minutes; 30 minutes in certain circumstances. Please ring reception to pre-book practice nurse appointments; you can book up to two or three weeks ahead.

Telephoning Your Doctor
The receptionist will take your number for the doctor to call you back. If you can, please tell the receptionist what your call is about as this helps the Doctor to prioritise their calls and home visits.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. You can now text the surgery to cancel appointments.
