When making a request for any of the above, please give your name, age and symptoms so that a correct assessment can be made by the operator handling your call.
Visits are recommended in cases involving:
- The terminally ill
- Household patients for who travel to premises by car would cause deterioration in their medical condition.
Do not usually visit in the most of the following cases:
- Common symptoms of childhood fevers – it is not harmful to take a child with fever outside. The surgery environment is naturally better equipped for conducting a thorough examination.
- Heart attack – severe crushing chest pain. It is usually recommended to call emergency ambulance (999)
- Common problems such as cough, sore throat, influenza, general malaise, back pain and abdominal pain. Patients presenting with these problems should attend the surgery.
If you telephone the surgery and ask for a house call we will arrange for the doctor to speak to you. He will advise, suggest you attend the surgery or arrange to visit you.
