Accessible Information Standard
The Accessible Information Standard tells organisations how they should make sure that disabled patients receive information in formats that they can understand and receive appropriate support to help them to communicate.

Implementation of the standard
By 1 September 2015 all organisations that provide NHS or publicly funded adult social care must have started to prepare for implementation of the Accessible Information Standard. This includes:
- Assessing current systems and processes; and
- Developing and commencing roll out of a local implementation plan.
By 1 April 2016 all organisations that provide NHS or publicly funded adult social care must identify and record information and communication needs with service users:
- At the first interaction or registration with their service
- As part of on-going routine interaction with the service by existing service users.

By 31 July 2016 all organisations that provide NHS or publicly funded adult social care must have fully implemented and conform to the Accessible information Standard
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The average pay for GPs working in Hedon Group Practice in 2017/18 was £64,746 before Tax and National Insurance. This is for 3 full time and 6 part time GPs and 1 Locum.
GP contract 2015-2016 Named GP
By 31 March 2016 all practices will need to include on their website reference to the fact that all patients, including children have been allocated a named, accountable GP.
All practices are required to use the new code 'patient allocated named accountable general practitioner' to confirm the practice has allocated a GP to each patient by the 30 June 2015, or within 21 days if aged 75 or over or newly registered
ALL patients have a named accountable GP. If you want to know who yours is please ask at Reception. You can change the accountable GP to a GP of your choice if you so wish.
The named accountable GP's role will be to take responsibility for the co-ordination of all appropriate services required under the contract and ensure they are delivered to each of their patients where required (based on the clinical judgement of the named accountable GP).
You are still free to see any GP, and in particular when a different GP may have a sooner or more convenient appointment for your needs. You may also be required to see or speak to alternative GPs particularly in urgent situations or if a home visit is required.
For patients aged 75 and over the named accountable GP will work with relevant associated health and social care professionals to deliver a multi-disciplinary care package that meets the needs of the patient and ensure that these patients have access to a health check.
Patients whose accountable GP was Dr Cross have been allocated to Dr Metcalfe. Dr Metcalfe became a Partner with Hedon Group Practice on 1 July 2016.
