DO YOU LOOK AFTER SOMEONE WHO CANNOT CARE FOR THEMSELVES?
We are want to identify carers, especially those people who may be caring without help or support.
We know that carers are often “hidden” looking after a family member or helping a friend or neighbour with day to day tasks and may not see themselves as a carer. Caring for someone is an important and valuable role in the community, which is often a 24 hour job that can be very demanding and isolating for the carer.
Carers should receive appropriate support by way of access to accurate information on a range of topics such as entitlement to benefits, respite care and, not least, a listening ear when things get too much.
South Lakes Carers are a local charity based in Kendal, they are here to help and if you would like to be referred for their services, please ask at reception for a SOUTH LAKES CARERS REFERRAL FORM.
Pick up a leaflet on services available to you as a carer. If you would like us to send on information please ring us and we will put our leaflet in the post.
Hannah Miller (Receptionist) is ourpractice 'carers link' and may be able to help you by providing leaflets and information. Remember, you have to look after yourself to be able to look after others.
Please go the South Lakes Carers website www.slcarers.org.uk for further information and contact details.
