CQC Report 

“Maybury Surgery is very disappointed at the recently published report detailing the outcome of a practice inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) that took place on 26 September 2017.  The practice remain committed to the delivery of high quality patient care and whilst the inspection report highlights that at the time of the inspection, the surgery was providing good caring services and is responsive to patients’ needs , it also identifies areas where we need to make improvements.

At Maybury Surgery we take the safety and welfare of our patients very seriously and have developed a robust action plan through which we have already begun to address each of the CQC concerns.


We have taken immediate action to introduce robust processes for reporting, recording, acting on and monitoring significant events, incidents, near misses and complaints. We have established a routine schedule of clinical audits including re-audits to ensure findings have been acted on and improvements have been achieved.

Formal governance arrangements have been implemented  including systems for assessing, monitoring and managing risks and overseeing the quality of our service provision. Our staff have access to a range of appropriate policies and guidance to carry out their roles in a safe and effective manner. Policies and Procedures are easily accessible by all staff and will be routinely reviewed and updated. Further, we will ensure that all staff receive regular appraisals and training relevant to their role.


Maybury Surgery has introduced an active Patient Participation Group (PPG) to engage and involve our patients both now and in the future.

We are committed to making all necessary improvements to ensure that we provide safe, high quality care for all our patients, and the practice is confident that the outcome of any future CQC inspection will reflect this.”
