Early Help for Families Pre and Post COVID-19

We recognise from a safeguarding and ‘Think Whole Family’ perspective the challenges faced within families during the Covid 19 period has exacerbated the challenges families face in bringing up children.

There are times when a family needs help and support, who as a result access primary care services which then puts on added pressure within the system. Early help means providing support as soon as a problem emerges, at any point in a child’s life, from pre-birth through to teenage years. Signposting and supporting families to services at an early stage can prevent escalation of need and the intervention of statutory Safeguarding interventions, as well as reducing the pressure on your own service.

Worcestershire Children’s First are offering to improve service provision by sharing links with the public and primary care practitioners to use the links and support families access the right service at the right time provision to support Early Help within the Primary Healthcare Trust, and prevent escalation of need.
