Do Something Different!

Do Something Different programmes have been developed with behaviour change experts, health professionals and patients in Hertfordshire. It is designed to give patients a new way to make positive changes to their lifestyle.

How does it work?

Go to: www.hertsdirect.org/dosomething to sign up (it only takes about 10 minutes). There are five programmes to choose:

  • Healthy Weight
  • Happiness
  • Less Stress
  • Healthy Lifestyle
  • Manage Your Diabetes (Type 2)

Each is a six-week programme that runs on a computer, tablet or mobile phone, and delivers small but powerful tasks to help people adopt a healthier lifestyle. Following an online diagnostic, you will begin to receive personally targeted text messages, helping you to take ownership of your personal health plan and to make the lifestyle changes we all know can make such a significant difference to your ongoing health.

Outcomes from the programme include:

  • 26% uplift in stress-management behaviours
  • 16% uplift in emotional well-being behaviours
  • 24% uplift in healthy lifestyle behaviours
  • Average 2.62kg (5.8 lbs) weight loss in six weeks
