Blood Test Process for Patients

• Clinician/General Practitioner identifies the need for a blood test.
• The Clinican will either give the form to the patient or advise patient to collect OR ask admin to email the blood form straight to phlebotomy services ready for the booked appointment
• The Patient will then need to call the SATH booking line for blood test appointments on 01743 492510 they will then book your blood test
• The blood test will still be held at Elizabeth house at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. This is now by appointment only. Walk in service is no longer available.
• If you have been given your blood form you will need to take this with you to the appointment, if it has been emailed to the department directly you do not need to take it as they will have it ready when you arrive
• Once the blood test is complete please wait 7 days before calling the surgery for the results. If the results come back earlier and the GP needs to discuss these the surgery will contact the patient.
