We currently have 2 partners off work long term and there is a lack of available locum doctors. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused, we are all working extremely hard and are hoping things will soon improve.

No routine appointments will be available and GPs and nurses will only see patients with an urgent problem.

NHSScotland is improving the way it uses information from GP patient records. SPIRE is a service that will allow small amounts of information from GP practice records to be used to help doctors' surgeries, NHSScotland and the Scottish Government to improve care and plan services, and to help researchers to learn more from patient information held at GP practices.

A new campaign is underway to inform patients across Scotland of the benefits of the service, and the confidential and secure way in which GP patient records will be used to help plan and improve health care services.

You have a choice about your patient record being used in this way. To find out more go to or call NHS Inform on 0800 22 44 88.

Service Standards

Our Promise to You

We undertake to:

  • Show courtesy to you as an individual and respect your rights to privacy and confidentiality.
  • Ensure you receive most appropriate care by suitably qualified staff.
  • To offer regular health checks.
  • To make referrals to specialists as necessary.
  • Ensure you receive a clear explanation of proposed treatment and an opportunity to ask any questions.
  • To provide information about services available in the Practice Leaflet.
  • To see patients who feel their illness is genuinely of an urgent nature on the same day.
  • To involve you in decisions regarding health care, investigations and treatment.
  • To strive to improve the services we offer.

What We Ask From You

We ask you to:

  • Treat us with the same courtesy and respect as you expect to receive.
  • Read the information in the Practice Leaflet. Tell us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend an appointment so we can offer it to someone else.
  • Ask for a Home Visit only if it is absolutely necessary. Home visits are for the housebound and disabled people and the surgery has the best facilities for treating patients.
  • Allow sufficient time for your repeat prescriptions to be processed (2 working days).
  • Be understanding if appointments are running late-another day it may be you who needs more time with the doctor.
  • Inform us if you change name or address or especially your telephone number.
  • Avoid asking for another family member to be seen at your appointment without prior arrangement.
  • Not to call the doctor out with surgery hours except in emergencies.
