From 2nd January 2018, the Family Practice will not be taking repeat prescription requests over the telephone.

You can request your repeat medication by the following methods:-

1. Using your repeat slip (right hand side of prescription) ticking the items you need to order and handing this slip into the practice or posting it to the practice.

2. Order Online - to set up an oline account please bring a form of ID to the Reception desk (this is for patients aged 16 years and older).

3. Fax your repeat medication slip to the practice.

We understand that this might not be popular with some patients but we hope that you will understand that safety is of paramount importance.

Accessing General Medical Services

If you wish to make an appointment with the surgery please contact us by telephone.

Receptionists will ask for some information in order to direct you to the most appropriate professional.

When you request an appointment with the GP, our receptionists will ask you for a brief reason as to why you need an appointment.  This is so that they can direct you to the appropriate person within our team which includes GPs, Practice Nurses, Physiotherapist, Social worker or Mental Health Practitioner.   Or they may give you information about services or self-care options that you could access for your symptoms eg. the Minor Ailments service at the local pharmacy.

In the case of an emergency during out of hours -

Please order your repeat prescription 7 days in advance of when it is required.

This is to allow the GP practice and Community Pharmacy time to process your prescription, to ensure you do not run out of your medicines when the GP practice or community pharmacy is closed.

Please do not order an increased supply of medicines if you do not need them. Only order a prescription for the medicines you actually require.

Acute Scripts ordered before 11 am will be ready at Reception Desk or Chemist after 2 pm on the same day.

Acute Scripts ordered after 11 am will be ready at Reception Desk or Chemist the following day after 2 pm with the exception of Emergency Prescriptions.

SOCIAL MEDIA

The practice is aware that some patients have posted disparaging comments about staff and the Practice on social media. If you have any comments or complaints about the Practice please write to the Practice Manager.

Zero Tolerance Policy

     We have a zero tolerance attitude towards any incident in

     which an employee is abused, threatened or assaulted, either

     in person or online

 


MASKS

The practice has a policy in place that all patients and visitors to the practice must wear a face mask unless there is a physical or mental health reason why they can not wear one.  If there is any reason why you feel you can not wear a mask this needs to be discussed with your GP prior to your appointment
