Update of Application to Move to Moss Grove Surgery Kinver to Dudley CCG

Unfortunately, despite our very successful engagement with you, our patients, and your overwhelming support in our application to move our Kinver practice in to Dudley CCG, we have been informed by NHS England that they cannot support this application.

While this engagement with you and all of our stakeholders was overwhelmingly positive South East Staffordshire and Seisdon Peninsula (SESSP CCG) could not submit an application to support that of Dudley CCG who submitted their application on our behalf.

As a result our application failed at the first hurdle.

This is extremely disappointing to us all.

SESSP CCG recognised:

  • The value to the services that we would have been able to offer you, our patients.
  • The improved access that would have resulted with the move.
  • That moving would have secured the future of Moss Grove Surgery in Kinver for the foreseeable future.

However their decision not to support us was based on the problems and restraints of SESSP CCG’s financial debt has on them as a CCG.

As doctors and staff we are disappointed that both SESSP CCG and NHS England have not taken in to account our views as doctors, our staff and most importantly the views of you, our patients.

We have written asking NHS England to review their decision, and we are currently awaiting their response.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, and we hope to have more information regarding this issue in September.

Kind Regards,

Mark Hopkin
