Application to Combine Practice Lists
We are planning to combine our practice lists for Clipstone, Farnsfield and Rainworth in April 2016. One combined list will enable us to work smarter but will not change the services we provide. See here for more info.
From this development, we are also pleased to announce that one we merge, we will be offering Saturday appointments at Rainworth also, which will be available for all patients to book. These Saturday appointments at Rainwoth will take place 1 in 4 saturdays a month, with the other 3 saturdays shared between Crown and Farnsfield.
We wish to announce that Dr John Porter has decided the time has come to retire after nearly 30 years as GP at Farnsfield Surgery...
I am writing to inform you of my recent decision to retire from General Practice. I plan to retire on 31st December this year.
Before the merger the surgery’s future was vulnerable and I believe it is now in a very strong position going forwards. I also believe that we are very fortunate to have such clinical strength in the new doctors and nurses in Sherwood Medical Partnership.
After much reflection, I have decided the time is right for me to step away to allow the Practice to be taken forwards by my younger colleagues. I feel very privileged looking back on my career. To have experienced working in this community for the vast majority of that time has been particularly special.
I have enjoyed tremendous support from patients and colleagues and for this I am particularly grateful.
Leaving medicine behind will be challenging for me, but I am looking forward to my retirement ahead.
Dr John Porter
