Merging Practices

We are delighted to announce Clipstone Health Centre and Farnsfield have merged to form Sherwood Medical Partnership

FarnsfieldThe increasing demands placed on GP surgeries means that many practices are now looking to join together where there is a shared ethos and where a merger can benefit patients, staff and doctors and we believe this merger will achieve that goal. We plan to keep levels of service the same, or growing, at both sites; we are not reducing the number of doctors or nurses. We won’t ever be asking you to travel to Farnsfield for your appointments! Although, once the IT systems are sorted, you will have the option to book appointments there if you would like.

We’ve tried to answer some of the questions we think you may have here but feel free to contact us if there's more you want to know.

Flu Vaccines – Now accepting bookings

Flu is a highly infectious illness that spreads rapidly through the coughs and sneezes of people who are carrying the virus. If you're over 65 or suffer from a long term condition your risk of being seriously ill with flu is greatly increased and you are entitled to a free flu jab. Please call us to book your flu jab.

A New Medical Centre for Clipstone and Forest Town

screenshot2.JPG

Our existing health centre has served us well but we are now chronically short of space and require a new, purpose-built medical centre from which we can best serve the needs of our patients.

Work has now started on site and should be completed by September 2015.

Electronic Prescribing

You can now have your prescriptions sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. You don't need to come to the practice to collect your repeat prescription, saving you lots of time. Your prescription will be ready for collection in 48 hours, your prescription will be sent directly to your nominated pharmacy. Please allow 24 hours for the pharmacy to process the request.  If you want to sign up just ask your pharmacist or ask a member of staff. For more details click here

GP2GP Electronic Transfer of Medical Records

GP2GP Electronic Transfer of Medical Records is the transfer of all patient records between practices, when a patient registers or de-registers (not including temporary registration). The Collingham Medical Centre is currently using the GP2GP facility practices who use the same clinical system (SystmOne). We intend, working with our NHS Information Service, to ensure that we are able to transfer records electronically between all clinical systems and practices. The implementation and team training for this is scheduled during December 2014 and will be in place by March 2015.
