Cruse (Bereavement Counselling)

A CRUSE Counsellor visits the practice weekly. Please ask at Reception for details on how to make an appointment. Alternatively contact them on their national helpline number which is 0844 477 9400.

Drug & Alcohol Services

If you are concerned about your own or somebody else’s drug or alcohol intake please speak to one of our GPs or practice nurses. Useful information about the services available and self- referral in BANES can be found here

We also offer specialist ‘shared care’ for opiate addiction and have weekly community alcohol and drugs advisor clinics at our surgery.

Domestic Abuse

It is important that anyone experiencing domestic violence or sexual abuse knows they are not alone. Please speak to one of our GPs or practice nurses, we work closely with Southside and an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor Jo Cosgrove who can be contacted directly on 01225 331243 at Southside. Learning Difficulties

We have a very high number of patients registered with us who have a significant learning difficulty and cover the RNID nursing homes. We provide specialist reviews for patients with a learning difficulty and work closely with the Specialist LD Nurses to ensure patients are given the correct medical information in a way they can understand it. Dr McNab has a special interest in this area and provides weekly ward rounds to the RNID.

Assisting discharge from hospital

Dr Nicholson works alongside Cleeve court nursing home and the RUH to enable smooth discharge from hospital and provides weekly ward rounds and medical cover.
